How does payment escrow work?

When you accept a proposal, your payment goes into a held account managed by Stripe (PCI-DSS Level 1). The pilot knows the money is available, but it isn't transferred until you approve the deliverables. If there's a disagreement, we mediate before releasing.

Can any pilot register?

Yes, signing up is free. To access higher-value missions we recommend holding a valid AFAC RPA-O or RPA-D license and your aircraft registration. We verify the documents before enabling the account for missions > $25,000 MXN.

What's the platform commission?

For clients, posting and receiving proposals is 100% free. The platform commission (10%) comes from the pilot's side, is deducted when escrow funds are released, and is already included in the quote you see — no surprises.

How do I communicate with the pilot during the mission?

Once the proposal is accepted, a mission room opens with chat, file sharing and a shared logbook. Everything is recorded inside the platform for dispute resolution.

What if I don't like the deliverable?

You can request revisions within the agreed scope. If there is a genuine quality issue, the DroneMex team mediates. As a last resort, if the pilot fails to deliver, we return the held amount to your original payment method.

Do you operate in restricted zones or ATZ?

Yes. AFAC pilots handle the necessary permits (CENAM, ATZ, protected natural areas) as part of the proposal. The extra management time is reflected in the delivery timeline.
